Stories about famous rapper/singer Ikechukwu leaving record label, Storm Records have been circulating the entertainment industry. It has now been confirmed that he has moved to MoHits Records. It is very surprising as he just released an album under the Storm Record label a couple of weeks ago - Killz zone. Killz, as he is commonly known, said the decision to leave Storm was mutual and both parties came to a common ground on the decision. Here's wishing Ikechukwu more success in his career from this big move.

Broadcasting Professionals
Aimed at senior broadcasters from developing countries working in both the public and private sectors, the scheme will bring a select group of broadcast professionals to the UK for 2 weeks from 20th - 31st October 2008. This will be the 13th such group we have brought to the UK since 1996. During this time a highly intensive and varied programme is set up, tailored to meet the interests of those selected to participate. It is a unique opportunity for the fellows to share ideas and experiences with each other and their UK counterparts, and to develop new goals. This is also a rare occasion for senior people in the UK media to learn about broadcasting issues and experiences from around the world. More information at: http://www.owbt.org/pages/Fellowships/apply.html
The deadline for receipt of applications in London is Friday 22nd August 2008 at noon (GMT).
...........Yep it's Monday Morning. Hope everyone had a good weekend? I know it was excellent for some, the likes of TaureanMinx and DonChiChi and everyone else who attended the ThisDay Music Festival.
ThisDay online has some news on the concert here and don't forget to watch out for ChiChi's experience at the concert on his Entertainment Briefly blog and I'm sure Bella will have something up about it soon.
As for me, my weekend was fun fun, I partied woohoo!
Have a nice week and I will be back here with my iPod, Podcasts and Apple Store post soon (I'm still frustrated about that o, I have not forgotten lol)
Update Oh: Let's just say I really didn't think the ThisDay Music Festival would be "ALL THAT" but apparently it was!! As inn I am deeply and truly pained, I really honestly want to cry that I didn't go but I am happy for Nigeria that it went well. I will advise you to See Bella Naija's blog for pics but read Don Chi's E Brief! for a full account, while I have the Amebo/Gist that they didn't seem to add on to theirs (wink wink) see below:
Where should I even start? The performance was too mad i.e. Jay-Z's that a street has been named after him in Kwara state -Shawn "jay z " Carter Street near the University.
Busta Rhymes apparently yapped George Bush and Tony Blair saying they were told Africans were suffering but he sees us enjoying. And why not? Apparently people pulled up inRolls', Phantoms, Ranges, Bentleys, S 500'sand everything, the people that came with Jigga were so tripped!
Jay-Z was meant to perform for 30 minutes but he stayed for 2 hours! They had to tell him to stop and he was so fascinated the crowd knew all the lyrics to his songs that he was just throwing everything at them!
Snoop was high on not just the crowd alone - Go Figure!
Missy refused to perform on stage and that she entered the crowd.
Bank MDs and big boys in Gidi, senators and governors were just dancing like mad.
And finally, Beyonce's version of ourNational Anthemwas off the hook! Can't wait to hear it (sniff!)
WHERE ELSE? Gidi of course!! Have you heard of all the stuff going on? It makes me sick (lol) to know that I'm missing out:
1. The 8th Lagos Book & Art Festival (14-17 September) at the National Museum, Onikan. More info at Stamped CORA .
2. The Lagos Comics & Cartoons Carnival (15-17 September) at Terra Kulture.
3. TheThisDay Music Festivalfeaturing Jay-Z, Beyonce, Missy, Ciara, Busta Rhymes, Sunny Ade, Lagbaja, D'Banj, Tuface, Weird MC, Dare Art-Alade and Seun Anikulapo Kuti on October 7 and 8, 2006 at the Oceanview restaurant.
This festival is to celebrate Nigeria's Independence Anniversary and the tour is in partnership with the U.N and MTV in order to bring attention to the World's Water Crisis. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE, CHECK OUT
4. Channel O African Music Video Awards(well I guess I could watch it on Channel O in Gidi even if I weren't in S.A) held at at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg on the 15th of October.
After not having blogged in 6 years, even I myself am shocked and nervous about this....but hey you do as you are told. I have been led to start blogging again (on this page, strangely enough rather than on a separate 'ministry' type blog so here goes). The truth is once a blogger, always a blogger. Cheers to new directions!
