Breaking News...........

Na wa ooooo a prospective Lagos state Governor - Funsho Williams was assassinated yesterday morning....politics! Why?! Apparently he was a very sure prospect who came with the whole "can do" package and this probably threw some of his competitors off to the extent that they hired assassins to apparently strangle the guy. This is the story. How unfair! At 58 years old.

LAGOS NA WA!

As posted on Ayoke's blog. When politics is no longer about what services or policies one has to offer but all about the quickest way to enrich oneself. Then it makes it a pursuit that suits the most desperate. For this reason some people will go to any lengths to get to that position. Assassination unfortunately and immorally becomes one of the many means to reach that end. What a simple, sad and unnecessary waste of a precious life.

A re-examination into life!

What is life?

A life has been taken. What does this mean to us?

Do we examine ourselves everyday and assume our own death. What will be the significance we live on this planet earth?

A man's life has been unjustly taken. I hope this speaks volumes to us because we have a responsibility to live our life to the max.......

This is so sad, the whole naija political scene is turning into something else. I pray God comforts his family during this difficult time. This is rather shocking, God help Nigeria.

It was sad to hear about his death and the riotings that broke out in parts of Lagos. Personally, (and I say this will all sense of what is proper)I didn't think he stood a chance of winning even his ward, which made his death all the more pointless.

This has to do with the in-fighting amongst his party people.

Maybe if all Nigerians were to read Soyinka's "You must set forth at dawn" and Kole Omotosho's "Just before Dawn", we might realise that anarchy has reigned in Nigeria for more than 4 decades. It just hits us in the face from time to time to remind us.

He was a very genuine human being. A good friend of my dad's. This is awful. May his soul rest in peace and may God provide comfort to his family at this distressing time in their lives.

Unfortunately, like others before him, I don't think we'll ever get to the bottom of this. Who killed Dele Giwa? Who was behind Bola Ige? How about Pa Rewane and other politians too numerous to mention. This is indeed very sad.
