Back in the grind

..................A new week, a new blog (heheh - I crack myself up with some of the dryest things sha).

So, some stuff to share briefly with you (can't hang about too long today):

  • Watch the Amazing Grace movie this Friday (see flyer below for details). It's at Imperial College and is open to all ( £1 per head with refreshments).

Check out Bella's blog for TAE and Naijavixen's blog for the Naija comedy awards - Laff Attack! (see flyer below).

She also has some videos and an interview with Empress Njamah. Plus she has confirmed that Chamillionaire is half Nigerian!

Will be back in a flash xxx

Hello Mona,
I've heard complaints about the historical accuracy of 'Amazing Grace'. These came from the 'very literary' crowd if you know what I mean. Could you give me your opinion on the movie when you see it? I intend to as well, but fear I might do so from a position of bias.

ps. Cityscape is headed/owned by my friend, Wale. Maybe I should have studied architecture? I'm proud of his work though.

most people i know just said that amata's efik was crap, and the most bitter people were those that saw it in Nu Metro / Silverbird for between a grand and two grand. I mean I bought my (currently unwatched) original VCD copy for N300 at Nu Metro less than a month after it came out.

Oh and so if Chamillionaire gets busted for fraud you know its the naija in him, now if he robs a liquor store on the other hand...

Amazing Grace is okay...I reviewed it on my reviews blog...I will agree that even though i dont understand efik, fred amata didnt sound like he was doing the language any justice. Its a good attempt at any rate. I watched it at Silverbird AND bought my own copy. Might as well support my people.

CityScape is always having exhibitions...Havent looked at them in too much detail but i have heard good things...

Nice post Mona

I really want to see this Amazing Grace movie. I was at the cinema the other day and noticed a poster for another movie with the same name. Same concept from what I gathered, I believe. Will have to look into it further sha.

I thought the Chamillionaire gist had been confirmed a long time ago or maybe its just us in the states that know for sure.

Happy hump day Mona.

Mona nice one as usual!
Yeah, historians are disputing the 'Amazing Grace' account of the ispiration for the song. I say, who cares, they should leave us alone and allow us 'claim' the song jo.
Yeah those Cityscape people seem to be doing big things. I hope they are not overleveraged considering the amount of projects they are involved in.

Anyways, hope u r havin a fun week.

Ciao!
